The 2017 Holidays event was a seasonal event that began on December 1, 2017 and ended on January 8, 2018. Similar to other seasonal events, it came with a Hypixel Store discount, new maps, map reskins, a lobby present hunt, and more!

Advent Calendar

The Hypixel Lobby Advent calendar system where players can claim daily rewards from December 1–25 returned for the 2017 Holidays event. The Advent calendar was accessible through the Delivery Man or by typing /advent in any lobby.

Holiday games

Both seasonal Arcade games, Grinch Simulator and Santa Says, were available to play for the duration of the event.

Grinch Simulator

Grinch Simulator is a game where players rush through houses to collect as many presents as possible within four minutes.

Presents, which are found in, on, and around the houses, can be clicked to earn one point. A map is given to each player displaying the locations of all remaining presents along with all player positions. You can also use snowballs to hit and stun other Grinches. The player with the most points after the time is up wins the game.

Santa Says

Santa Says is a holiday-themed remake of of Hypixel Says where players complete tasks assigned to them to get points.

There are two types of tasks: participation and placement tasks. For participation tasks, all players who successfully complete the task will earn a point, and for placement tasks, only the top three will earn points with 1st earning three points, 2nd earning two, and 3rd earning one. The tasks are a mix of those from Hypixel Says and special seasonal tasks.

Miscellaneous updates

Holiday sale

The Hypixel Store offered a 25% discount off items in the in-game store and a 20% discount off items on the web store for the duration of the event. A 90% discount was offered for several bundles and the [MVP++] rank was also introduced. The sale ended on January 8, 2018.

Present hunt

The lobby present hunt also returned for the 2017 event. There were 88 presents scattered across every lobby, 40 of which were in the Main Lobby and 48 were hidden across the other minigame lobbies.
