While chat isn't a feature exclusive to Hypixel, and is integrated into the game as a whole, Hypixel has added many plugins and modifications to modify the way users interact via chat.
Chat[]
Chat can be used to talk to players. There are 3 different type of chat.
A chat in Bedwars
Usage and Commands:[]
Commands:
- /chat a (Enables All Chat, works at all time) Anyone in the lobby can see your message
- /chat p (Enables Party Chat, usable when a part of any party) Anyone in the party can see your message
- /chat g (Enables Guild Chat, usable when a part of any guild) Anyone in the guild can see your message

MVP++'s are able to post custom emoji's in chat, that are coloured and display some pretty cool faces in chat.
Prefixes:[]
Users with any form of rank in chat will be given a prefix to denote what their rank is. Furthermore, certain games (such as Build Battle or Bed Wars) display the users rating in that gamemode before the rank in the chat. There are a large number of prefixes due to the large number of ranks, and ranks within gamemodes, not to mention MVP+'s and MVP++'s abilities to change the colour of their +'s.
Game Outputs:[]
Chat is also used to display important game information, such as when the game is starting, certain in-game events (such as a death or objective capture/completion), but also display the reward summary at the end, or other menu's showing the player what he has gained from a game or item.
Moderation and Filters:[]
The Chat also has a filter system, where offensive words are filtered out to users that have selected not to see them in their settings menu. Furthermore, users that attempt to break other rules (such as advertising), will not have their message posted but instead be sent their own message warning them not to violate the rules. It can also be used to display when a user has been warned or muted due to violating the rules.
