Fishing

Fishing is a casual activity found in the Main Lobby. It has some unique mechanics such as custom fish and enchants, different fishing environments, etc. Although it is not an official minigame, its stats are tracked and reported on players' yearly recaps. SkyBlock also has a similar skill with the same name found here.

Players can fish in three different environments: water, lava, and ice. Water fishing is primarily done at the Fishing Hut located at  16 63 -34. The Fishing Hut is also accessible through Lobby Explorer Victoria. Lava fishing is done in the cave to the left of spawn marked with the fish skeleton, located at  -53 86 -38, after unlocking the Vulcan's Blessing enchant from Vulcan's Dock Master. Ice fishing is only available during Holiday events at the ice pond at the top of the mountain accessed through the tunnel to the left of spawn. It also requires a special enchantment, Neptune's Fury, granted after talking to Neptune's Nereid.

Catches

Each fishing environment grants different fish, treasure, and junk.

Fish

Fish are the most common type of catch. With base drop chances, fish make up 79.7% of catches. The only unique catch in this category is the secret fish whose name can be hovered over in chat to reveal the 2nd digit for the Vault in the Main Lobby Labyrinth zone. If the Herbivore enchantment is enabled, only kelp can be caught, and special fish will not drop.

Junk

Junk is the second-most common type of catch. With base drop chances, junk makes up 22.5% of catches.

Mythical fish

Mythical fish are the second-rarest type of catch that only appear if the Mythical Hook enchantment is enabled. They have a special system to catch them where the player needs to catch the fish within 60 seconds and without breaking their hook. With base drop chances, mythical fish make up 5% of catches.

Mythical fish appear as a custom-texture player head moving in the water with a health bar above it which will alternate between red and green phases. Right clicking will decrease its health bar. When the health bar is red, clicking will increase an invisible heat stat by 10 which decreases by 15 every second. If this stat reaches 100, the fishing rod will break and the fish will get away. When the health bar is green, clicking will just decrease the health bar. When the fish is caught, a weight will be assigned to it based on the type of fish which currently has no purpose.

Special fish

Special fish are the rarest type of catch. Each special fish can only be caught once and must be caught in its specified environment. Some fish can be caught year round, but some are seasonal and are only available during its respective event. With base drop chances, special fish make up 0.3% of catches.

There are a total of 44 special fish: 12 are available year-round, while the rest are seasonal. 37 are caught in water, 3 are caught in lava, and 4 are caught in ice. There are also some SkyBlock fish where its item can be claimed in SkyBlock once caught.

Enchantments help catch fish and item types more efficiently or allow for catching different types of fish. Depending on the player's goals unlocked enchantments can be toggled on and off in the enchantments menu.
