Game jams are internal Hypixel events where the admin team is tasked to develop new games/projects/jams within the course of a week. It usually occurs later in the year, most often around December. Some games get released and/or tested in the Prototype Lobby. Only two game jams' games have been fully publicly showcased.
2018[]
Hypixel hosted a game jam sometime in late 2018, but all the entries were not formally displayed to the public.[1]
Hypixel Sports[]
- Main article: Hypixel Sports
Hypixel Sports is a Party Games-style game where players complete three sub-games, Sprint, Hurdles, and Swim and try to win the most stars. The game has unique controls where the player controls an armor stand using alternating left and right clicks.
Hypixel Sports was released under the Party Games NPC in the Arcade Games on November 26, 2018 with the intent to not necessarily keep the game forever.[1] It was removed with the merge of the three party games on March 1, 2019.[2]
2021[]
Hypixel hosted a game jam sometime in late 2021 which consisted of six experimental games, four of which were officially released.[3]
Gun Game[]
- Main article: Cops and Crims
Gun Game is an FFA Cops and Crims mode where players try to kill others with a rotating set of guns. After each successful kill, a new gun is awarded to the player. After every gun is used, the final weapon, a knife, is awarded, and the first person to kill someone else with the knife wins.
Gun Game was officially released as a Cops and Crims gamemode on March 23, 2022.[4]

SheepWars[]
- Main article: Sheep Wars
SheepWars is an explosive team survival game where each team tries to explode and knock off the opposing team by shooting out explosive sheep. Different sheep colors have unique effects to spice up the game, and power ups and magic wool spawn occassionally which can give a team an extra boost.
SheepWars (renamed to "Sheep Wars") was released to the Prototype Lobby on April 15, 2024[5] and officially released as a Wool game on August 14, 2024.[6]

The Dropper[]

The Dropper is a spin on the classic Minecraft dropper maps and minigame where players fall and dodge obstacles to try to get to the bottom of a map as fast as possible.
The Dropper (renamed to just "Dropper") was released to the Prototype Lobby on July 25, 2022[7] and officially released as an Arcade game on September 14, 2023.[8]
Hypixel Lab[]
Hypixel Lab is a team survival game consisting of three teams of players, Monsters, Prisoners, and Swat. Monsters attempt to kill all other players (facility personnel); they are strong but limited in various ways such as being unable to move when seen or not being able to see players who are standing still. Prisoners attempt to escape the lab and get to the surface while avoiding being killed by the Monsters. The Swat team tries to kill the Monsters in an attempt to protect themselves and the Prisoners.
Hypixel Lab was re-introduced in the December 2023 game jam, updated to more modern versions.

Pixel Party[]
- Main article: Pixel Party
Pixel Party is a music-based game where players must stand on the correct color in time before the floor disappears and they fall into the void. As the game progresses, the time to find and get on the correct color decreases to as short as half a second. Power-ups spawn from time to time in random places that give a random positive or negative power-up.
Pixel Party was released to the Prototype Lobby on October 20, 2021[9] and officially released as an Arcade game on September 6, 2022.[10]

Gliders[]
Gliders is a 1.17 elytra flying game where players fly through rings to reach the end finish line goal. Boosters can help players stay on track even when they're falling, and coins, though unimplemented in the game jam version of the game, would be used for in-game purchases such as cosmetics.
Gliders was an experiement to see the possibilities of using a modern-version of Minecraft (instead of being 1.8.9-based). The game was said to likely not be added due to having to rework a lot of the server to accomodate for a modern-version minigame.

Hypixel hosted a game jam sometime in late 2023 which consisted of twelve experimental games.[11]
Killjoy![]
Killjoy! is a PvP knockout game where players fight as animals in an FFA or 4v4 game. Players attempt to stay alive and upright as long as possible while being thrown around, knocked out, or headbutted by others.

Disaster Survival[]
Disaster Survival is a survival game where players must survive in a small world with constant natural disasters such as storms, floods, giant slimes, zombie apocalypses, and more. Surviving becomes difficult as the map gets slowly destroyed.
Disaster Survival (renamed to "Disasters") was released to the Prototype Lobby on December 4, 2024. If it gains enough support and feedback, it will be released to the network.

Core Control[]
Core Control is a competitive team game where each team tries to steal the other team's core while protecting their own, similar to other capture the flag-style games including Hypixel's Capture The Wool. Players can set traps and use special abilities to protect their core and ward off others, and the map layout also makes controlling the core challenging.

Minecraft Survivor[]
Minecraft Survivor is a top-down survival game where the player attempts to survive as long as possible while killing hordes of zombies and other enemies. Weapons, skills, and abilities can be obtained through surviving and killing enemies which will help in defeating stronger mobs as the game progresses.
Minecraft Survivor, if developed, would be the only game not played in first-person; the removed game, Hypixel Sports, was the only other third-person game.

Untitled Chunk Game[]
Untitled Chunk Game is a speedrun game where players try to be the first person to reach the nether while being confined to a small 2x2 block border. The border can be upgraded to increase the amount of space and resources available, but other players can sabotage and shrink others' borders too.

Sabotage[]
Sabotage is a team survival game similar to other Murder Mystery modes with the same three teams: Innocents, Detectives, and Murderers. The goal is also to stop all the murderers before the game ends. Instead of the detective being the only one players can rely on, all players are free to stop the murderer. Weapons, armor, and other loot can be found throughout the map in chests to provide some safety.
In the July 2024 Minigame Developer Update, the Hypixel Team specified they were not pursuing adding a new gamemode to Murder Mystery.[12]

Dangerous Industry[]
Dangerous Industry is a cooperative survival minigame where players must work togther to collect loot and resources on a strange planet and escape. The team needs to avoid mosnters and get out of the dungeons quickly with their loot.

Distinct Hero Payload Game is a team game where players use their abilities cooperatively to push a payload towards the enemy base.

Defenders[]
Defenders is a PvP and PvE game where players try to defend their castle from enemy players as well as enemy mobs, such as skeletons. Each player chooses a role/class depending on their play style from Tank, DPS, Mage, and Support, all with their own unique abilities.

Hypixel Lab v2[]
Hypixel Lab was mostly unchanged from its first iteration except for newer mobs like the warden being added as the game was ported over to a newer version.

Hypixel Chess[]
Hypixel Chess is a simple take on the popular board game, chess. Two players move their pieces on a board and try to checkmate the other player. The game allows for a small or large board.
Minikloon specified on X that Hypixel Chess would not be officially released to the network.[13]

Hypixel Zombies Map[]
- Main article: Prison (Zombies)
Hypixel Zombies Map is a map confirmed to be released to Zombies where players must escape a prison while fighting the undead. The announcement of this map and update happened earlier in the January 2024 Minigame Developer Update.[14]
Hypixel Zombies Map (officially "Prison") was released to Zombies in the Arcade Games on June 20, 2024.[15]
