The map selector is an in-game feature which Hypixel has across their network. It allows players to queue for a specific map in a given game rather than being directed to a random available one.
It allows the player to choose between all available maps across the gamemode being played. Those with the MVP+ rank or above have unlimited access to the map selector, while other lesser ranks only have a limited amount of uses, that being one use per day.
Each map in the selector displays its name, gamemode, how many available games there are, the amount of times you've joined, and how many more map selections you can make. By right clicking, you can favorite or unfavorite a map. The firework can be used to join any available map (just like joining and not using the map selector), and the diamond and can be use to play a random map from your favorites list.
