The Bridge

The Bridge (or Bridge Duels) is a competitive Duels mode where players score goals on their opponent(s) to earn the most points while fighting on a small bridge. It has the most sub-modes of any Duels gamemode with 4 two-team modes, 2 three-team modes, and a capture the flag mode. The Bridge was first released to the Prototype Lobby as a standalone game on March 28, 2018^[1] and fully introduced to the Duels lobby with the Duels v1.3 update on October 24, 2018.^[2]

Gameplay[]

Two teams of 1–4 players depending on the mode spawn in cages above their respective islands. Players are either on the red or blue team. A 1-block-wide bridge connects the islands, meeting at the center. Within each island is a goal which is the other team(s) are trying to reach/score. The bridge and placed blocks do not reset after each round usually making the map more difficult to traverse as the game goes on.

Each player is given leather armor (excluding the cap) of their team's color, an iron sword, a bow, a diamond pickaxe enchanted with Efficiency II, 2 stacks of stained clay of their team's color, 8 golden apples, and a Glyph Menu item which players can use to display a glyph cosmetic. Bows can only be shot when the player has an arrow which regenerates every 3.5 seconds. Golden apples set the player to max health and give them 2 Absorption hearts for a total of 24 HP. The players inventory is reset upon death, replenishing any items they used.

Teams must score 5 goals to win the game. Games are limited to 15 minutes (Duel/Doubles) or 10 minutes (3v3/Teams).^[Confirm?] If nobody wins after the time is up, the team with the most goals scored wins, or the duel is a draw.
